People still do visit in the Winter, but Settle is also a Market Town serving many outlying villages, so there is always trade from local residents as well as visitors.
Settle Tourist Information should be able to give you better statistics about visitor numbers. –

Huge respect Mike. Lived in Yorkshire Dales most of my adult life and I know something about charity fund raising. My wife and I followed everything you and Jane did with great interest, we thought she was amazing and made us feel humble. I worked for the National Trust in and around Settle and have walked most of the ground covered by the various routes of the walk for all. Brilliant idea and very well organised. We are too far away to offer any practical help unfortunately. We have an idea for a charity walking event here in Orkney and would be honoured to dedicate it to your cause. To date with have mainly done stuff for Help for Heroes.

Try calling the Tourist Information Centre, they have loads of info and leaflets on this sort of attraction. There is The Falconry Centre, close to Settle

My father’s name was David Walter Settle and he grew up in Weehawken New Jersy, USA; His father, Walter Settle and mother Mildred Peirce raised him there.
Do you have any contacts that may help me to locate my ancestors? Is there a local historian or Settle family that may have a family ancestry links?
