The district consists of the town of Settle and 17 surrounding parishes Together they are home to around 9000 people living amid some of the most beautiful landscapes in the UK.
As a place to live Settle District offers an enviable lifestyle in a wonderful environment and is currently working to make itself the Greenest in the Dales with a high profile ‘Going Green’ campaign. Excellent rail and road links together with excellent schools, housing and medical care are all cited as major factors when people come to live here.
We have a thriving local theatre, good pubs, restaurants and a cafe style wine bar. Numerous societies, church groups and other social events are more than enough to rival our larger neighbours.
