Maypole InnShort description
In 1695, Ambrose Wigglesworth opened the doors to his first customers. Three hundred years later, we continue the tradition of offering hospitality and a warm welcome in this seventeenth century inn, situated beside the Maypole Green in the picturesque Dales village of Long Preston. The Maypole Inn has long had a strong reputation for serving fine home cooking in its warm, spacious dining room.
InformationThe Maypole Inn is a traditional village pub positioned in the Yorkshire Dales village of Long Preston, between the market towns of Skipton and Settle, offering accommodation, bed and breakfast and food all day. The hotel is an ideal base for walking and touring holidays. Open moorland, hill slopes of the Pennines, caves and waterfalls are all within easy reach. Famous walks such as the Yorkshire Three Peaks and those around Malham are also close by. In 1695 Ambrose Wigglesworth opened the doors of the Maypole Inn to his first paying customers. Over three hundred years later the joint traditions of hospitality and a warm welcome are still going strong. Robert and Elspeth Palmer have been running this village inn for over twenty-five years and with their friendly and dedicated staff, have built a reputation for quality and sincerity serving good food and real ales. In 2010 they were delighted to be awarded by Keighley and Craven CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) the title of Pub of the Year. |
