Our mission is to change your world through story
Established in 2010, arts & heritage charity Settle Stories uses stories to connect people and help people make sense of the world. We bring high quality arts and training opportunities to our rural community in the Yorkshire Dales.
There are three strands to our work.
Events – stories to inspire all ages. We run year round events for adults and children. Our flagship event is the highly acclaimed Settle Stories Festival for adults & children which has been heralded as the main event in Settle by Welcome to Yorkshire, one of the top 5 festivals in Yorkshire by The State of the Arts and one of the top 5 storytelling festivals to watch out for by News Week. Learning Programme – Join us for a workshop in Settle and discover how stories can enhance your communication skills. We work with around 6,000 young people every year in schools across the North. Find out more by visiting www.settlestories.org.uk/learning
W.R. Mitchell Archive – We preserve the vivid oral histories of the Yorkshire Dales through the W.R. Mitchell Archive. Experience the sounds of the Yorkshire Dales wherever you are in the world by listening to stories that transport you to another time. www.settlestories.org.uk/archive
