NEW HYDRO SCHEME FOR SETTLE
Are you interested in doing your bit for the environment? Would you like to see clean, green electricity generated in Settle?
Settle Hydro, a development of StART (Settle Area Regeneration Team) and Settle District Going Green, are proposing to install a 50kW small-scale hydro electricity plant at Bridge End Weir, Settle - the first community hydro in Yorkshire .
Settle District Going Green's Chair, Steve Amphlett, who is organising the event said:
"This is a chance for anyone interested in local, green initiatives to come along and find out more about the project and how they can get involved. On the day, we'd like people to pledge their support for a local renewable energy initiative and sign up for our email newsletter. It's really exciting to think that we could have our own renewable electricity produced right here in Settle."
