The Tourist Information Centre Location
Located in the Town Hall in Settle Market Place, is the place to visit as you begin to explore our lovely area, drop us an email or telephone if you want to check out details in advance.
Run by North Yorkshire Council the centre has local staff and volunteers who will be pleased to help you get the most from your visit. Whether you are looking to explore the area on foot, by cycle, a car drive or journey on the famous Settle- Carlisle Railway, local knowledge will set you off in the right direction and maybe help you discover some of our lesser known gems and attractions.
The Heritage Walk (Stroll through History) leaving from the Tourist Information Centre
Join our Thursday History Walk through Settle – This relaxed stroll starts each Thursday at 2pm from the Tourist Information Centre, telling the story of the development of Settle, through our buildings.
The cost is just £5, bookable at Tourist Information or payable to your guide on the day.
Group bookings can be arranged on days/dates to suit your group

Not only is our area famed for its spectacular scenery we are proud of the exceptional range of food available. If you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy a delicious meal, places to buy picnic essentials or a relaxing brew in our friendly cafes, knowledgeable staff will be only too happy to give you guidance.
The centre stocks a wide range of free leaflets that describe the many attractions, events and places to visit. A varied selection of books, maps and guides can be purchased along with postcards and souvenirs as a reminder of your stay in the Yorkshire Dales.
