The installation features a back drop of tropical island images, with a tableau re-creating some very interesting (and edible) buried treasure. Visitors are invited to bring a Christmas card to put in the postcard racks. This will be in place until 26 January and can be found by following the trail of gold coins.

Many thanks to Mr Preston for running the school’s Christmas Disco and to all the parents who organised this event. It was enjoyed by everyone. Thanks also to Mrs. Richardson and Mrs. Eccleston for producing a delicious Christmas meal, which included: turkey, mashed potato, sprouts, carrots, peas, Yorkshire pudding, sausage, stuffing, gravy, as well as ice cream or pudding, It was much enjoyed by pupils, staff and Governors who were able to attend. Thanks also to Mrs. Garth and Mrs. Clay for all their help with the washing up!

The Christmas Production was greatly enjoyed by a huge audience. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the excellent entertainment provided by all the pupils, from the youngest 4 year old to first group of Y6 pupils, with their re-telling of the Nativity story, with additional parts written by Class 3 pupils. They all performed so well, and they sang beautifully, including the small ensembles and even in German! Our Y6 pupils, as the Dynamic Dectet, showed some excellent instrumental skills. Thank you to all who attended the performance; your support was much appreciated by us all. We are again very grateful to Beccy Bullock for her piano accompaniment and to Jo Arnold-Williams for composing two of the pieces and for her support with the Y6 instrumentalists, as well as Ray Jones for his support with rehearsals in the church and to Reverend Hilary Young for the use of St. Alkelda’s church and leading the blessing. The collection raised an amazing £237 for Class 3’s chosen charity: Brain Tumour Research and Support, Yorkshire’s leading brain tumour charity. Well done everyone!
