Congratulations to Andy Holden who won prizes worth £400 for some of
his wildlife entries in the Leeds City Museum Natural Beauty
Photography competition – Exhibition now open from February 7th to
17th August 2014. Beautiful Botany (Purple Saxifrage on Penyghent)
and ‘Animal Behaviour’ – Starlings flocking.

view – Illustrated presentation by Dr Dominick Spracklen of the
University of Leeds, focused on his research into global and tropical
trends. At Townhead Court (across the road from Townhead Surgery) in

14. Sat 1 Mar Woodland Conservation in Cleatop Wood– 09:30 – 15:00 –
Meet in Greenfoot Car Park, Settle. Enjoy a day carrying out practical
conservation work in Cleatop Wood near Settle. No previous experience
needed. Bring old, warm clothes, waterproofs, lunch, hot drink and
sturdy footwear. Tools and work gloves provided. We will begin with a
half hour walk from Settle to Cleatop Wood. The practical work will be
light and suitable for a wide range of fitness. Back to Settle for
3pm. We are sorry that the event is only suitable for adults and is
run by CCG in partnership with the Yorkshire Dales National Park
