News from Judith A

Some of you will know Joan Corbett. She died last Saturday. There will
be a memorial service/celebration of her life this Saturday 21 Sept at
2pm at St John’s Methodist Church, Settle.

Joan was a Methodist Local Preacher. She used to be a Maths teacher
before they came to Settle. She used to cycle with her husband Robin
to our Coffee Mornings. I have a lovely photo of her and her
husband Robin looking over the wall of the Ribblehead Viaduct on one of
the Open Days.

OWW asks you to support or organise events that enable us to consider whether we:
• have had more than enough of consumer culture getting in the way of
relationships with others in our communities and across the globe?
• have had more than enough of being defined by what we possess?
• have had more than enough of seeing our planet irrevocably consumed?
• take more than enough ourselves?

Let me know if you are organising a OWW event in/near Settle
