OPPORTUNITY TO SEE ORGANIC GROWING IN ACTION
This coming Saturday, 20 July, sees an opportunity to see organic growing in action as Clapham-based Growing with Grace holds its annual Open Day. Following a successful period in which its popular vegetable box scheme has expanded across South and North Craven, the Open Day is a chance for local people to visit the operation and hear about aspects of its work. Running from 11.00am to 3.00pm there will be tours of the site, opportunities to meet the Growing with Grace team, as well as a workshop with the Organic Gardening Network.
The Open Day is free of charge, and everyone is welcome. Growing with Grace’s farm shop will also be open on the day
Growing with Grace, tucked away behind its modest but famous carrot signs on the A65 at Clapham, is a cooperative and social enterprise dedicated to supplying sustainably grown produce to local people and businesses, as well as training and educational events. Operating for over 12 years in nearly 2 acres of glasshouses, they pride themselves on producing the best quality organic vegetables, salads and fruits in the region, either through a box scheme, from the site’s farm shop, or through the online shopping service. The fruit and vegetable box scheme already operates successfully across Craven, the southern Lakes and Lancaster.
Further details of the programme for the Open Day can be found by visiting www.growingwithgrace.org.uk, or by calling into the Clapham farm shop.
