Today ( Sun 21 Sep) there will be several big marches in the
country about CLIMATE CHANGE, to raise awareness. The UN is having
meetings in New York on 23 Sept http://www.un.org/climatechange/summit/

The nearest march to us is at Manchester, and John Raubenheimer is
going. (I am giving him a lift to Clitheroe early this morning). Is
anyone else going from Settle?

Reminder: the SETTLE CIRCUIT HYMN COMPETITION theme this year is
“Peace and Justice”  first prize £150 – Closing date: 12 Oct

to a well known hymn tune?

One of the hymns that was entered in the 2001 competition on the theme
“Care of the environment” by a Pat Bennett, is to be sung THIS very evening
at Westminster Abbey in a service of prayer for the UN climate
Summit.(You can see the hymn at www.greenchristian.org.uk/archives/1029 )

23 Sept: Meeting in Skipton on the crisis in the Middle East led by
Ben Oldham of CAFOD – Skipton Churches together at Trinity Meth

24 Sept  “Monsieur Lazhar” film at Victoria Hall, Settle -French with
English   subtitles. Doors open 7.15 and show commences 7.45.

Day –  St John’s Hall, Settle 2-4pm

24 Sept: Settle Gardening Club: 1pm: Townhead Court to share a Jacobs
