The Ribblesdale Area Moving Picture Show has got its act back together in Settle and there will be a series of films monthly, mainly on the theme of showing the best of foreign language films.
The films will normally be on the evening of the last Wednesday in month. However, the first one is on Friday 28 June, and will be a French surreal animation based around the Tour de France. The real Tour de France starts the day after — no not in Yorkshire this time, but in Corsica. While Chris Froome’s victory in the warm up event, Criterium de Dauphiné, makes him a favourite for the big race, did you know that the first British winner of the Criterium de Dauphiné was a Yorkshireman?
After the cycling, we stick with the French for a couple of sessions. July and August see a couple of classics: “Jean de Florette” (PG) and “Manon des Sources” (PG). In September we follow the current fashion for Scandinavian drama with the Danish “A Royal Affair(15)”
All listed on the website www.tramps.org.uk 🙂 Just click on “future programme”.
