World Book Night

Book lovers from all over North Craven will descend on Settle on Tuesday  23rd April to celebrate World Book Night. Libraries, Schools and Reading Groups as well as local authors will be giving out over 100 books to local residents in a grand celebration of books and reading.

Author Julia Stagg, who will be giving out copies of Andy McNab’s Last Night Another Soldier said “This is going to be an amazing night. People will be giving out a huge range books that will interest anyone aged 8 to 80. We’ve got Long John Silver, James Bond and Judge Dredd to give away!” Writer of 8 bestselling novels, Leah Fleming, said “what better way to spread my love of reading than to than to share copies of my favourite book with those who don’t regularly get to read”. Leah will be giving out copies of Victoria Hislop’s The Island.

The giving will start at Settle Library at 7.00pm. There will be free refreshments. Everyone is welcome!
The first World Book Night was in 2011. Last year almost 80,000 people gave over 2.5 million books away in four different countries.
