Local pupil Jack selected for North Yorkshire Schools Team

Giggleswick School pupil and Settle resident, Jack Sanderson, has received a remarkable honor by being selected to represent the North Yorkshire Schools team in the Intermediate Boys 3000m race at the prestigious English Schools Track and Field Championships. The event is scheduled to take place on Friday 30 June where Jack will showcase his talent and dedication on the track.

Jack’s selection for the North Yorkshire Schools team follows his outstanding performance at the recent North Yorkshire Championships, where he triumphed in the 3000m race. His remarkable achievement in that race was a testament to his unwavering commitment to training and constant strive for improvement.

Giggleswick School Director of Sport, Ed Buck, commended Jack’s efforts throughout the year: “I am extremely proud of Jack and his running endeavours at Giggleswick School this year, his tireless commitment to training and improving this year has been impressive, both on the track and fells. The news of his selection for the English Schools Track and Field National Finals is a testament of how hard he has worked alongside our Athletics and Running Coach Alistair Scholey.”
