The accolade follows an independent review carried out annually by the CharterGroup which provides accountancy practices with technical support, networking opportunities and business consultancy.

Commenting on the success Mark Schofield, director at Haworths, said: “Knowing that as a practice we are on top of our game is excellent news to us and our clients.

“Feedback from the independent review demonstrates that we continually meet a set of high standards set by the CharterGroup which in turn gives our clients confidence in the services we provide.”

The CharterGroup Accountancy Alliance was founded in 1986 and is the UK’s premier national alliance of quality independent accountancy practices. There are currently 54 member firms encompassing a diverse range of clients and expertise, with a fee income of £175m in 101 locations throughout the UK.

In order to be considered for membership, firms must agree to an annual quality inspection by the Group. The inspection provides an invaluable benchmarking tool for members to compare their performance and profitability against the rest of the membership.

Gary Corbett at CharterGroup said: “Every year we measure our members against a number of criteria. Although it is a compulsory process for our members, it ensures that all practices meet certain standards and can also identify areas for improvement. CharterGroup members are given geographical exclusivity which means practices do not compete with one another but learn from success and experience.

“The 2013 independent quality review rated Haworths as an outstanding practice in the entire CharterGroup. The firm is an excellent example to its peers who can draw from Haworths’ best practices to develop and grow their own companies.”
