OS Map Three Waterfall Walk from Settle

3 Waterfall Walk Map from Settle
Forget the Yorkshire Three Peaks – we have the Three Waterfalls ! There are no GIANT climbs or peaks to ascend or descent, by no means flat either! Rolling hills will take you on this lovely walk to check-out our local “water wonders” Two of them are renowned swimming spots or just to dip your toes in.
Starting from King William the Fourth Guest House, High Street, Settle BD24 9EX
After a steep climb out of Upper Settle joining Mitchell’s Lane the elevation takes you up onto the tracks of the Pennine Bridleway (Lambert Lane) You get great views of the town below. Upon reaching the High Hill Road it is a ¼ mile walk along this road to get to the first Waterfall “Scaleber Force” – hidden in the woodland you can climb over the wall-stile to view from the top, there is a rough stoney track to the base of this feature

Retrace your route back along the road to a junction with Stockdale Lane and follow the footpaths past Sugar Loaf Hill and Attermire Scar, then go past Winskill (re-connecting on the Pennine Bridleway and drop down to the second “Catrigg Force” which is located off the track. Again you can view for the top and there is a track to the base. Note: you can not go to the village of Stainforth from this position you must go back onto the track from where you descended from

Catrigg Force Waterfall
Back onto the main track and down into the village of Stainforth, options for refreshments at either the Craven Heifer Pub. Or a little diversion off the route to the Campsite Café/Bar/Restaurant of Knights Table – this is close to the final and third Waterfall called “Stainforth Foss” – this is the famous Salmon jumping spot (Mid-Late October) also good options for a swim (weather/conditions pending) Ask us about the Eel Pool!
