Seven local business owners within the Settle area have got together and organised a FREE event in Settle entitled ‘You & Your Business – Survive & Thrive!” on 27 April aimed at small businesses. The 3 hour session will consist of 7 specialists talking for 15 minutes about their own area of expertise in a fun and informative way. The focus will be on explaining how and why their areas impact on small businesses and how they can provide practical solutions for day to day problems. Subjects covered will include financial planning, health and safety, cash flow forecasting, business development, business support, professional development and HR. The 3 hour session will give small business owners time to stop and think, and find someone local who can help to clarify the issues which they don’t normally have time to tackle. Even for small businesses with just one member of staff, areas such as staff safety, new pension rules being introduced in 2014/15, or managing the minefield of employment law need to be tackled.
Unlike other business events, this one has been turned on its head. Usually business owners have to decide who to approach, which can be daunting and off-putting. If you don’t know the question, how do you know what or who to ask? On 27 April, business owners will receive a friendly welcome in a relaxed atmosphere, be given a great cup of coffee, homemade cakes and a comfy chair and have the chance to relax and listen to down to earth, sound advice in areas that may affect their business which they might not have considered. If people find as a result of the session that they need further help, they will know where to go to get it, without spending valuable hours trying to find it. And, there will be plenty of time for questions and answers within the 3 hours.
The event is being held at Admin24, 8a Station Road, Settle. There will be a morning session starting 9:30am – 12:30pm and afternoon session 1:30pm – 4:30pm so delegates can choose which suits them best.
