Christmas Switch On

Settle Christmas Lights Team

This year, Settle’s Christmas lights will be switched on in the Marketplace on the afternoon of Saturday, 1 December 2012. We hope you agree that the new lights in the Marketplace last year were a great improvement, and this year we intend to make the lights display and switch-on event even better!

Volunteers needed

Father Christmas will, of course, be there, but we desperately need more helpers on the day. If you are able to spare a few hours, please contact a member of the lights team.

Marketplace stalls

Local charities and organisations are invited to hold a stall on the Marketplace during the afternoon – a great way to raise funds! The cost per stall is £20, and you need to provide your own equipment (such as tables and awning). Christmas-related produce usually goes down well, and since this is primarily an event for children, we hope some of you will be able to think up games that they will enjoy.

Please get involved to make this the best Christmas event yet!

    Sick of the City Scramble?

Your 60-Minute Reset is Waiting in Settle. If you live in or near Leeds, Manchester, or Lancaster, you know the “Saturday Scramble.” It’s the alarm you didn’t want to set. It’s the hunt for a parking space in a concrete multi-storey. It’s the fluorescent hum of a shopping mall, the lukewarm chain coffee, and the […]
