7. Friday 26 December:
Boxing Day Pilgrimage from Ripon Cathedral to Fountains Abbey:
http://riponcathedral.info/event/boxing-day-eucharist-and-pilgrimage-to-fountains-abbey/
9.30am-12.30
(4 miles) (afterwards 4 miles back)
There will be several 100s of people on the walk.
It   starts  for those who wish with  communion at the Cathedral at 9.30am. (If you like you
can join the walk straight after that)

The  walk  is about 4 miles long .. and I must admit they seem to walk
faster  and  faster  each  year  (or  is that just faster than me?). (Then 4 miles
back):

1 mile through Ripon and outskirts
1 mile through fields near Studley village
1 mile through   Studley  Park (may see the deer). If you are VERY
fit/fast, then take the longer route over the seven bridges
Meet at the Gate to Fountains Abbey
1 mile though Fountains Abbey grounds.
Sing  carols  in  the  Cellarium  of the Abbey and support the National
Trust by buying a drink of hot mulled wine…

Here are 2  pages I have made in 2011:  (I think they are good..)
