– Algae and Lichens walk at Malham tomorrow Sat 8 Sept – led by
myself – (10.30am at Malham or 10am by previous arrangement at
Settle Swimming Pool)
(It is helpful if you phone to say you are coming so I know how many
leaflets to bring – but just come anyway – this is the event that was
formerly advertised on Sun 2 Sept)
-Mon 17 Sept – Talk on “Yorkshire Peat Project” by Tim Tom in Settle
organised by Craven Conservation Group www.craven-conservation-group.org.uk 7.30pm Townhead.

This is a wonderful footpath – to Janet’s Foss- most of you
will know it – but learning about lichens and algae (from scratch)
gives you an extra reason to walk along it.
Half the photosynthesis in the world is due to Algae.
So half the oxygen we breathe could come from algae.
