Information and demonstrations

The Settle Showcase is happening soon and will give you an opportunity to come and meet many of the small businesses and organisations that work across the Craven District. Some are working in Settle itself and others in the surrounding villages, such as Clapham, Bentham, Ingleton and Malham.

Whether you’re a local resident interested in what’s on offer in the area, an existing business looking to network and collaborate with others, or someone thinking of starting up a business and looking for inspiration and support, you’ll find plenty to grab your interest at the Showcase.

Joe Lord, the Mayor of Settle, who will be there to greet you and open the day, said “I’m proud to support the Settle Showcase. This sort of celebration and collaboration underlines the enormous amount of creativity and innovation that the small businesses and community organisations in the area have to offer – make sure you come along and make the most of this chance to take a look at what they do – it looks like it’s going to be a lively and entertaining day.”

A wide variety of small businesses and organisations will be displaying their services and expertise on stalls in Victoria Hall and the Friends Meeting House. They represent a broad spectrum of commerce and services:

  • architectural services and garden design
  • alternative health and therapies (homeopathy, acupuncture, reflexology, guided meditation, nutritional products, health through creativity)
  • IT training and advice
  • business and financial support and advice
  • print services
  • publishing and editorial services
  • photography
  • Courses, classes and groups  (First Aid, creative writing, dance, outdoor activities, scouts, photography, stress management)

The stalls will offer a range of displays and demonstrations.

There are some other organisations taking part and sharing information in various ways, including Giggleswick School, the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, Booths, Settle Chamber of Trade, Victoria Hall and The Folly.

Look out for further information here on the Settle Website about prizes, free workshops, entertainment and the refreshments that will be available on the day!

This event has been organised by the Settle Networking Group, a mutually supportive group of approximately 100 local businesses. The group meets monthly to share ideas and look for ways to work together or to use each other’s services. We are affiliated to the Settle Chamber of Trade who have helped enormously with supporting our group. We would like to thank Victoria Hall, Booths, Lafarge Aggregates and many others for sponsoring or supporting this event.
