Langcliffe Couple Support SCOPE Charity.
Janet Taylor and Paul Caffrey decided that SCOPE, the charity that works for disability equality, is a cause that they want to support. Janet explained that she felt sympathy around the mental health problems associated with disability.
“I knew when I heard about the work Scope does with people who are under pressure and those who are lonely because of a disability. The charity does lots of other things that make life more equal for those with disabilities, but it was the practical help it can provide to those with mental health issues that made me want to support SCOPE.”
This Sunday Janet and a team of friends are going to bake and serve Sunday Teas in Langcliffe. Starting at 2pm and ending at 4:30 there will be cakes and jam for sale.
Janet isn’t worried that she, and Paul, will suffer any ill effects from, enjoying too much cake as they are training for their second fund raising effort. In March next year they are running in the London Landmarks half marathon.
“We hope that people will sponsor us, so that we can raise enough money to make a difference.”
