Garden Centre and Cafe

They say the best things come in small packages; our family run garden centre located in the Yorkshire Dales town of Settle is no exception. Founded in spring 2012 by the Lay family, our little ‘pocket’ garden centre sells lots of beautiful plants, pots, gifts and all sorts of other gardening related wares that the discerning gardener might need.

 

The Cafe is Open

So now you can enjoy a wonderful cup of artisan roasted coffee whilst you ponder your purchases, or sample a freshly prepared snack or homemade cake at our new Cafe in Lay of the Land.

There are thousands of plants in cultivation, if not hundreds of thousands, and no garden centre anywhere can stock them all.  Whilst small, however, we firmly believe garden centres should focus first on the plants, and have been told on many occasions we have more plants, and more variety, than many centres much larger than us.

Normally in stock

Seasonal bedding and bulbs, shrubs, small trees, fruit bushes, conifers, herbaceous perennials, herbs and vegetable plants (in season), roses, alpines, flower and vegetable seeds.  We supply Christmas trees as well, both cut and potted.

Lay of the Land – Garden Care and Design is a gardening business operating in association with Lay of the Land Garden Centre. We design gardens and planting schemes, build gardens, and other landscape projects, plant up beds, pots and planter and perform routine garden maintenance such as lawn mowing, pruning and weeding. We work on a wide range of projects within reasonable travelling distance of Settle, North Yorkshire.
