1. Tue 31 July: “A Natter with Nick” – Settle Parish Church – a special,
one-off,  question and answer session in church from 2pm with Bishop Nick of
Leeds Anglican Diocese.  Bishop Nick is a regular contributor to BBC Radio 2
and BBC Radio 4,  ‘Thought for the Day,’ an active member of the House of

Holy Ascension’s Binns Organ – Organ builder and restorer, Mark Wood is slim
enough to get in behind  the pipes and bellows of the organ and was able to
find his way out again.  See what he saw and hear how it all works [Free]

11.00 – 16.00   Rocks and Fossils Workshop.
Join Roger and Liz Neale at Bank House, West House. (SD 677742) examining
rocks and fossils.  There will be a short walk to search for the Permian
Brockram exposure  (a rare occurrence in this area.) Bring a packed lunch,
tea and biscuits provided in the  afternoon. Limited numbers.BOOKING

12. Sat 23 Aug Insect day at Broadrake Farm (www.broadrake.co.uk)
Come along to find and record as many species as possible at this small 4
acre site,  complete with wildlife pond, meadow (under restoration),
limestone outcrops,  young native trees and lots of grasses, mosses and
lichens.  Bring a digital camera to record your findings and a picnic to sit
and enjoy the views!  Broadrake is at SD740792, just a short walk from
Ribblehead where  there is plenty of parking and circular walk options back
to the viaduct.  Drop-in event for those on foot, bike or horse.Please call
on 015242 41357  if you wish to park at Broadrake, otherwise booking not
required.
