variety of music – a “miscellany” in the true sense of the word. So
far we have:
· A baroque recorder ensemble
· A classical pianist
· A classical singer
· A flamenco / classical guitarist
· A rock/pop band
· Guitarists from our monthly guitar session (performing together and
individually)
· A ukulele trio
· A folk duo
· We also have a local author reading a story about refugees.
And, of course, there will be the ever popular opportunity to have a
Langcliffe style singalong and a raffle

23: Wed 18 Nov:
Film Night at Settle Parish Church 6.30 for 7pm
Church Street, Settle BD24 9JA
“THE GOOD LIE” Cert 12 In 1983, a brutal civil war broke
out in Sudan leaving villages
destroyed. Thousands of orphaned children began to flee, some walking
thousands of miles enduring hardship, death and sacrifice. Thirteen
years later, Sudanese refugees were relocated to the US where they had
to adjust to a vastly different culture even as the emotional baggage
of their past haunted them. This film, “The Good Lie,” is inspired by
their story, how they made new friends and struggled to understand
each other.
With the current news of thousands of refugees moving across the
Middle East and Europe, the story is highly topical.
Doors open at 6.30pm – Film starts at 7pm
FREE ENTRY….…. Refreshments will be on sale
Organised by The Sudan Group of The Diocese of West Yorkshire and the
Dales in partnership with Settle Parish Church
