Jo of north Craven networking wrote: Many local people are now
blogging on a wide range of topics. I would like to start this
informal group for sharing of ideas, mutual support and technical
help. No commitment to come every time just a chance to meet up and
help support and encourage each other.
It really doesn’t matter if you are new to blogging or have been doing
it for a while. All are welcome.
We will meet at the Royal Oak between 5 and 7pm on the first Tuesday
of each month. They will provide copious amounts of veggie soup and
hot drinks so no charge for the group itself but £5 for food payable
on the day.
Please book if you intend to come so we know numbers and can make sure
there is enough soup and coffee!

Local easy free walks of between 60-90 mins in Settle as well as the
30 minute saunter for a gentle, low level walk on the first Wednesday
of every month. Meet for 1.30 departure at Millennium gardens in
Settle. These are designed for people to get back to fitness or
health or to maintain their walking on a gentler scale.

These Social Media workshops are all at the Royal Oak in Settle with
Heather Robinson from Skittish. Cost is £25 each session – there is
a discount for booking both workshops on the same day (info on the

North Craven Networking Group, local charities, festivals and
community groups.
These really are an absolute bargain – Heather is running these
workshops at £60 a session in Keighley.

North Craven Networking is a collection of local business folk,
community groups and charities. The group started in October 2011 in
Settle but has expanded and now covers Bentham, Ingleton, Malham and
also Skipton businesses.
Anyone can come to these workshops, but you have to book.

The first of the events in 2015 will feature 2 prize winning poets and
writers.
Carole Bromley teaches Creative Writing at York University. Some of
her poems have appeared iin Poetry Review, Magma, Rialto, The North,
Interpreter’s House, Poetry News, Ink Sweat and Tears. Her first
collection, A Guided Tour of the Ice House (Smith/Doorstop was
published in 2011. Carole won the first prizes in Bridport, Yorkshire
Open, Torbay, Bronte Society Literary Competitions, and will be juding
the York Poetry Competition this year.
Carole Coates’ most recent publication is a pamphlet called Crazy
Days, published by Wayleave Press in November 2014. Carol Ann Duffy
said of it “Crazy Days is stunningly, beautifully, heart-breakingly
marvellous. It’s one of the best things I’ve read all year.” Carole
has had three poetry collections and will have her first novel
published in 2016. She was given a Yorkshire Arts Award for an early
poetry sequence. She won the Nottingham Open Poetry Prize in 2011.
She lives in Lancaster where she helps to run The April Poets, and is
a member of Sixfold, a reading and performance group.
