What started last October as a small monthly gathering has grown to include over 80 businesses of many types and sizes from the Settle, Malham, Ingleton and Bentham areas. As well as networking meetings we now offer regular low cost computer training and are planning a Business and Community Showcase in the Autumn.
The lunchtime meetings are free and very informal and alternate between Mondays and Wednesdays. We usually meet between 11.30am and 1pm in business premises in the Settle area but do go further afield. The format is very simple, everyone has a couple of minutes to talk about their business and any special offers or projects they are working on, then the host gets about 30 minutes to show us around their premises and talk in more depth about what they do. There is also lots of time for cups of tea and networking.
Dates for the next few months are Monday 23rd July, Wednesday 15th August and Monday 10th September.
Recent developments mean the lunchtime group will be working much more closely with Settle Chamber of Trade in the future. We are also planning to strengthen relationships with other business groups in the area such as nearby Chambers of Trade, Federation of Small Businesses, Local Enterprise Partnership and more. In the longer term we hope to be able to provide more business support, training and networking opportunities for all sorts of businesses in Settle and the surrounding area.
