1. FUNGUS FORAY –

Wed Oct 31  Craven Conservation Group CG Fungus Foray – 10.00 am
with Archie MacAdam and Jane Blinkhorn  (and I will be helping)

The slightly wet weather forecast for Wednesday gives us a

NEW OPPORTUNITY
As well as a SHORT Foray we will have an INDOOR  SESSION.

We will meet at the Settle Swimming Pool Car Park, as planned, to share
transport, and then go for two very short walks, one at Scaleber Force and
one at a field that is good for colourful waxcaps.

We will then return to St John’s Church Hall, Settle for a session
– looking at a good selection of useful Fungi books  (in the dry)
– practising using fungi keys
– looking at specimens that PEOPLE HAVE BROUGHT IN.

So between now and Wednesday please do LOOK OUT FOR FUNGI NEAR YOU AND BRING
THEM IN TOO. We will help you identify them.
Timing: We will PROBABLY be back at the church hall by, or before, 12 midday and
stay there till about 2pm but this is all very flexible according to
the weather and people’s interests whilst we are out.
