Dear Member

First Networking Meeting

Monday 20th June 2011.

7.30pm at Settle Social Club on Duke Street.

Settle District Chamber of Trade is delighted to announce its first business networking meeting, to be held on Monday 20th June 2011 at Settle Social Club starting at 7.30 pm.  We anticipate it will finish around 9.30pm.  This event is free to members and will cost £15 for non- members, although this is refundable if non-members decide to join.

As Settle & District is a small, relatively close community where many people already know each other, if only by sight, we do not think it is appropriate for our networking meeting to follow conventional networking formats.  Our networking meeting will be led by Lynne Wilkinson from Business Link who will present three hot business topics which are:

  • Find out how you can engage and retain your staff and motivate them to drive sales.
  • Find out how to promote your website online and turn web visitors into customers.
  • Find out what the Social Media ‘Twitter and Blogging’ stuff is all about and how you can use it to grow your business.

Each of these topics can then be discussed within groups, with each group giving their thoughts & ideas to the meeting as a whole.  We hope that by encouraging discussion on specific topics we will also have a good networking event as well as an informative evening.   We also hope that by holding the event at the Social Club, and the bar will be open, this will lead to a relaxed atmosphere.

Please try your best to support this event.  Settle District Chamber of Trade is your Chamber and to make it work we need you to join in our initiatives.  As this is our first networking event it is especially important for it to be well supported.  Please let us know if you are going to attend by emailing our administrator Susan on or phoning her on (01729) 878163.

Please forward this email to any of your local business contacts that you feel are appropriate.

Thank you for your support.
