Settle Amateur Operatic Society Annual Dinner and Presentation of Long service Awards
SAOS was able to hold its annual dinner this year and, on Saturday 13 November, at the popular Knights’ Table Restaurant, thirty-three members gathered. They enjoyed meeting with their old friends, especially after the long months of Covid restrictions.
After the meal came the presentation of the awards. There were three members who will receive their awards at a later date, as they couldn’t attend the ceremony.
Three people were awarded Long Service NODA Award Medals.
Trudy Wilson, who, as well as being a teenager when she joined, is the current Chairman was presented with her Sixty Year Diamond Award. Steven Lawson and Graham Jarvis received the Twenty-five Year Silver Award.
Helen Reid, John Reid,and Alan McLernon received certificates to mark fifty-five years of service to the Society, and Maureen Batty to mark sixty-five years.
The Society’s Secretary, Barbara McLernon, thanked all for their wonderful services in numerous capacities, and everyone attending for their services to SAOS and their company.
