St John’s Methodist Church, Settle.

1. Current 122 year old building to disappear shortly:- visit whilst
you have the chance!

2. Have  you  (or  your  neighbours  or  people you know) any special
memories  or pictures of St John’s? We would be pleased to borrow and
scan  photos,  newspaper  cuttings,  documents etc. that you may have,
to make archives. Contact Philip Taylor <philip@castlebergh.plus.com> or
info@settle-methodists.org.uk

The building  of St John’s Methodist Church in Settle is now 122 years
old,  and  inside  it is a  fine building. It is the one with a
spire next to the railway bridge, next to the petrol garage, in Settle.
However,  it  is  only a matter of months.. soon of only weeks – until
this building will be closed. (Perceptive  people  in  Settle will have
noticed  that  a  new  building on the opposite side of the
road  next  to  the  Church Hall is rapidly arising). The old building
will be replaced by new houses. People with long standing associations
with the place will be sorry to see it go.

If  you  wish to see the inside of the current 122 year old church:
Come to Sunday services any Sunday morning at 10.30am
Come to a coffee morning in the church foyer – (every  Tuesday at 10am)
You will be very welcome
