About how local social marketing works …
As some may know, I manage the website Settle.org.uk – an information site supported by Settle Chamber of Trade memberships.
I have just looked at some of the statistics for the last month or so, for visitors to the site.
2 very distinct peaks can be seen on 29th January and 16th February. These coincide with these links I posted to my facebook profile.

So, traffic came from my profile page on Facebook, to the Settle.org.uk site to read about a great local project.
The 2nd biggest referrer to the site overall is facebook.
Looking at my timeline, there weren’t a lot of “likes” or shares for those links, so a lot was direct traffic! Now, imagine if loads of people liked or shared it !! – broadening the coverage. – That’s the power of Local Social Network Marketing .
All these visitors to the site hopefully browse some more of it, or at least learn a little about the wonderful town we live in, and may pass on the knowledge, or visit someday – thus helping the town to prosper …… Similarly, hopefully, the businesses who help to support Settle by being a Chamber of Trade Member ( Join Here ) benefit from this.
